Hába's illustration of contrary motion between fields
This example reproduces Hába's Figure 32 from Chapter 2 of his Neue Harmonielehre. Hába considers the set of conventional pitches to be one "field" and the set of quarter-tone pitches to be the other. This contrapuntal example alternates between the two fields as indicated by the brackets below the staves. When the music moves from one field to the other, the outer voices proceed in contrary motion.
