Example 1.6
J. S. Bach, Invention No. 13, transcribed into Julián Carrillo's integer notation
Carrillo's system uses pitch-class integers in place of note heads. In this example, I've renotated the opening of Bach's Invention No. 13 as it would appear in this integer notation. Each line and space on the staff represents an entire octave; most of the pitch contour information that we'd get from conventional notation has been flattened out.
